Can I Change My Earrings after 1-5 Weeks?

A very common question after piercing is that can I take my earring out and put it back in?🤔

If you just pierced your ears then you must carefully read this.

CAN I CHANGE MY EARRINGS AFTER 1-5 WEEKS?

Changing your earrings only after a couple week is not recommended.

    1. The healing process lasts for much longer than several days.

    2. Keep in mind that the process of healing takes 6 weeks.

    3. In this time, the body will heal the skin around the earring. Introducing other earrings might result in inflammation.

    4. You are advised to keep your first earrings for no less than the recommended healing time.

Wanna change them sooner? Then make sure you talk to a professional or a doctor before changing or touching your newly pierced earrings.

If this is your first earlobe piercing then watch this.

If it's a helix piercing, then watch this one.

    • Hi! I know I’m a bit late, but bear with me. I changed my newly pierced ears after 4 weeks, and replaced them with a different pair. It’s been a week since I replaced them, and I would really like to change them soon because I’m getting Confirmed really soon. Can I change them or should I wait?

    • Hi Paige, I remember when my friend decided to change them after a few days. It started bleeding afterwards and it was hard for her to put them back on. Plus it changing them sooner than what it should, may increase the chances of getting infected. :)

    • Hi, so I just got my ears pierced at a tattoo shop yesterday but they used crappy earrings and they’re bulky so they get caught on everything. I was wondering, if I did it in a very sanitary way, if I could change them out for the ones that Claire’s pierced my first holes with back in December? I know it’s advised against but I wasn’t sure if it mattered if I used the thicker stud that’s better quality to put in to replace the other one. Thanks!

    • Emily, first I’d say that you’re beautiful with or without earrings. ☺ To answer your question, I’d say that you’re not wearing those earrings for cosmetic at the moment. They’re there to let the skin develop inside the hole. Taking those earrings out and putting new ones before your skin fully develop, could end up with bleeding and infection. You don’t have those ear holes yet until those starter earrings done their job. Love your body no matter with or without cosmetic 🌹😙

    • It’s been just over two weeks since I got my seconds pierced and I want to change it because I don’t like the ones they pierced it with. I would take them out and put the other (better quality btw) instantly so I defo won’t close up. Should I do it or will it get infected?
