Can I Change My Earrings after 1-5 Weeks?

A very common question after piercing is that can I take my earring out and put it back in?🤔

If you just pierced your ears then you must carefully read this.

CAN I CHANGE MY EARRINGS AFTER 1-5 WEEKS?

Changing your earrings only after a couple week is not recommended.

    1. The healing process lasts for much longer than several days.

    2. Keep in mind that the process of healing takes 6 weeks.

    3. In this time, the body will heal the skin around the earring. Introducing other earrings might result in inflammation.

    4. You are advised to keep your first earrings for no less than the recommended healing time.

Wanna change them sooner? Then make sure you talk to a professional or a doctor before changing or touching your newly pierced earrings.

If this is your first earlobe piercing then watch this.

If it's a helix piercing, then watch this one.

    • Hi Jirah, I wouldn’t recommend switching it if you see no signs of infection or irritation. I don’t know what type of Starter Earrings you used, but if you’ve done it by a professional, they’re usually safe. Otherwise changing the earrings too soon needs extra care and clean hands, since it may cause bleeding or infection. So it’s better to always get them done by a professional.

    • Can I switch earrings after 1 week of piercing? because I used fake non-hypo allergenic jewerly I’m afraid that it only caused infection when tarnished.

    • Hi Jamil, Guess what? You can sit on the bus and go to the nearest piercing shop or jewelry store to get a new one.(I’m assuming that you’re not an adult or don’t have anyone to give you a ride. But if you are then still this applies to you)

First of all make sure you get some hypoallergenic ones, or ask for the starter earrings.

Gold, titanium, surgical 316L stainless steel, wooden, plastic, rhodium plated, etc… would work but share your purpose of purchase so you don’t get irritated by the nickel in the cheap jewelry.

Secondly, make sure you properly sanitize/use alcohol on your hands, earrings and ear before putting the earring back in. Or it’s better if a professional or person with experience does it for you.

      I hope I answered your question…. goodluck with your basketball Jamil… :)

    • Hello I play basketball in school so i was asked to remove my ear rings before practice i removed them and after practice I tried putting them in back but one of them went down the sink. This is after 2 weeks of piercing pls what should I do plus if i get a new one it will take 2 days before it delivered.

    • Oh! And I also forgot to mention, they are still pretty sensitive.
