But like all rings, halos could go wrong too. Taylor E., 32, chose her own ring along with her fiancé. But after wearing it for a while she realized that the ring of diamonds was a bit more yellow than the center diamond. She hadn’t noticed this in the bright lights of the jewelry store. She told her fiancé and they got the ring replaced.
To avoid such situations and to not end up with a cheap-looking halo ring, there are certain factors that you need to keep in mind.
If you are going for a halo ring, this goes without saying. The diamonds have to match in color. Else your ring is likely to look tacky and cheap. Unless you're a model or public figure. Colorless diamond halos are the most popular and classy. If you are going for a colored center stone. Keep the rest of the ring white for an elegant look.
A classic unadorned band or a simple thin pave-set band can complement your halo. An expensive halo looks expensive in the first place. You may spend lots of money on a french pave halo. But there's just so many of it around that it wouldn't be impressive if you have it too. Go with something that actually looks like it's the new generation of halo rings.
The center stone should be the star of your halo. Don’t make the halos too big for the center stone. Also, don’t make the entire ring too big just because you can. Something that complements your fingers is what you should choose.

Hollywood celebrities over the years have announced their engagements with exorbitant rings. Mariah Carey’s ring takes the title for the most expensive celebrity engagement ring ever. Her billionaire fiancé, James Packer gave her a 35 carat Wilfredo Rosado ring with an emerald-cut diamond. It cost almost $10million, reported the Insider. Mariah later sold the ring for $2 million.
Traditionally, an engagement ring was supposed to cost the groom his 3 months’ earnings. That was a way of showing how much he loved the woman. But today, expensive engagement rings are more of a social statement and also an investment option. Because it’s something you only buy once and you want to keep it forever.
But one shouldn’t buy a million-dollar ring just because they can. It’s important to buy a piece that your fiancé will love, and that signifies something for you both.
Now coming to the question, are halo rings more expensive? Let’s do simple math.
A 2-ct solitaire can cost you anywhere from $8,000 to $60,000 or more. This 2-ct diamond would likely cost you $9,000 to $70,000. Plus, the cost of the halo diamonds, which would not be high at the given size. So, in conclusion, a 2-ct halo ring will likely be more expensive than a 2-ct solitaire.
But it’s not a rule. There are plenty of expensive halo rings on the market. The quality and size of the diamond, the style of the band, and the design are a few factors that determine how expensive your halo ring would be.
Let’s take a look at some of the most expensive halo rings around.
Originally created for Princess Diana, this ring now belongs to the Duchess of Cambridge. It features an oval sapphire at the center, surrounded by 14 sparkly diamonds set in white gold. One of the most iconic engagement rings, this one is estimated to weigh 12 carats and is now worth approximately $500,000.
This ring is set in yellow gold and features a 4-ct, pink oval rock in the center. This rare gem is approximately valued between $25,000 to $50,000, reported The Knot. The eight surrounding white diamonds and the gold setting elevate the cost anywhere from $500,000 to $2 million.
Actress Lea Michele’s dazzling 4-carat diamond engagement ring includes a large rectangular, radiant-cut center stone, diamond halo and pavé shank. It costs anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000.

The halo engagement ring has remained the second most popular engagement ring style since its first appearance in 1920. Several generations of newly-weds have adorned their fingers with the halo ring. It’s a style that’s favored by the common man, the celebrities and the royalty alike. Georgian inspired jewelry (1714 – 1837) has made a huge comeback this year. And this further strengthens the appeal of halo rings.
Besides its popularity in style, the halo is also a very practical setting. It protects the center stone and enhances the sparkle of the ring. While also being versatile and fashionable. Isn’t that a lot to achieve for one engagement ring? A ring with such a long history and such wide appeal is not likely to go out of style. It sits proudly with the solitaire, as a timeless setting.
Contemporary halo engagement rings are nothing like we have seen in the past. They are a perfect blend of vintage charm and modern design. Let’s take a look at some of the halo trends this year, as featured in Harper’s Bazaar.
Emeralds and emerald cuts have been a rage. So, if you’re thinking of casting an emerald center on your engagement ring, don’t think twice. This is a style which you would only see on people with unique tastes. It's popularity has been steady and I think they're here to stay.
Pear, marquise and ascher shaped stones were made for the unconventional bride. If you are someone who is bold and doesn’t follow the rules, you might like this style. Vintage halo carries the best in other engagement ring styles on itself.
Hidden halos are elegant, minimal, and hence getting super popular with the sophisticated brides-to-be. If you’re a girl who likes the bling, and plans to wear her engagement ring to all the parties post-wedding, this might be your ultimate choice. You can get a colored center stone, or use a yellow or rose-gold setting to spice things up.
Still not convinced? Here are more reasons why we think halos are here to stay.
It’s true! Halo is the most coveted style of engagement ring after the solitaire. Celebrities and top designers over the years have favored this ring style and hence it continues to be popular. Kate Middleton, Lady Gaga, Pippa Middleton are few celebs who chose the halo ring for their engagement.
In conclusion, the halo engagement rings are not going out of style. If this is your favored style, start dropping hints to your man already!

Last week, Jason proposed to the woman of his dreams with a delicate pear-shaped halo. He kept the size small because he knew that’s what she’d like. They went on a hike with Jason’s best friend, who later hid in the woods to take pictures. The gesture made her lady love’s heart melt like a popsicle. And ours too!
The halo setting can provide a stunning contrast if you choose a color gemstone for the center too. In the market you can simply notice that Moissanite's popularity has been doubled among millennials in the past five years. Other popular stones include sapphire, ruby, morganite, and black diamond. Besides enhancing the sparkle, the halo also functions as protection for the center stone. This alone has its own meaning behind it. A halo can turn a diamond into a fashion statement if done right. Jason chose a colorless diamond as per they are by far the most popular halo engagement rings in the world.
The reason for the current popularity of halo rings is the renewed interest in vintage rings. Not only are couples buying new halo rings, but they are also repurposing family heirlooms. While many women may still prefer the solitaire or may favor a modern minimal design, the halo has its own charm and appeal.
Some believe that this widespread interest in halo rings is just a fad that will die down in a few years. But that’s unlikely to happen. While jewelry trends come and go, certain styles remain timeless. And the halo is one such style.
To choose a halo that never goes out of style, you may want to consider a few factors. First of all, decide on a shape. A round colorless halo has a very elegant look. Whereas a pear or ascher shaped is more in trend at the moment. If you’re choosing something very bold like a black diamond, be sure that you like it a lot. Because bold trends are likely to go out sooner. If you want your ring to make a statement even 30 years later, go with a classic silhouette.
And if you are someone who lives in the present, there are modern halo designs. Choose the one that steals your heart! Because we believe this classic style is here to stay.

Size, quality, setting, shank, stone or metal color and overall design of the halo does matter.
Tackiness is more a result of the design and less of the style in general. Also, the tackiness is a matter of personal opinion. Something that I find tacky, my best friend might love. And it is okay. Sometimes our opinions affect on one another too. The person wearing the ring should be happy and that is all that matters...
When it comes to engagement rings, there's a few ground rules that’ll help you be happy with your ring for a longer time. Don’t choose a halo engagement ring just because it is trendy. If you really love the style, you will love wearing it no matter what the trends say.
Here's a short video for example of a one of a kind halo engagement ring. Let me know in the comments if it's tacky or one of a kind.
When it comes to a halo engagement ring, options are endless. For example if you get a cheap halo engagement ring, you're very likely to see it everywhere because many others also buy it since it's cheap. So it's natural to feel your ring is tacky when it's only five hundred bucks. It's even available in Walmart. The cheaper the stone and jewelry, the more of it is available.
But when you go with some special and rare stones, you know that what you have is a wish for many people. You feel really great about yourself and your gorgeous sparkly ring. Because this is what you deserve.
Around 92% of the market go with the cheaper options.
And the other 8% come to us to get the greatest jewelry, rarest moissanite and diamonds. We guarantee your stones, jewelry and it’s design to be exactly what you love.
Split shank halo is rare for example. If you want to stand out, mix and match the kind of ring characteristics you love to create your dream ring. Send us an email so we can help you design the halo ring you always wanted. We can mix and match the shanks, settings and stone shapes to make interesting halo designs.
It doesn’t matter if the style is too trendy or completely unknown. If your halo engagement ring is designed by a great designer with the highest quality moissanite or diamonds then it's on a different level. A level where there's very few rings like it. So not only it's not tacky, it's one of a kind, rare and lovely.
Setting your halo ring with a pair of earrings is one of the greatest ways to complete your signature jewelry style. No matter what the stone is, you can get the same type of the stone to set with your engagement ring. For example if you're interested in an emerald cut ring, you can set it with a pair of emerald cut earrings with the same size, bigger or even smaller.
Here’s a few examples to see how you can set your rings with other types of stones like, round cut, cushion cut, and oval cut.
Keep in mind that we can customize this to moissanite or diamonds in all colors for you if you ask us.
It's definitely a very smart way to set a gorgeous band with your ring. Something that was actually designed to match the ring.
Many of the tacky halo engagement rings that I saw are set with a very different style band. For example the band is Dome style and the engagement ring is flat edge. So of course they seem tacky. Because they're not designed together. They were designed by a different designer with different styles. For such situations you should wear your band on a different finger. I'm speaking very broadly. So there's always exceptions.
We have some of the trendiest bridal sets that you're gonna love. Check out our entire bridal sets and notice how matched they are.
Get something that is as sparkly as possible. A design like this will give you a lot of sparkles from all angles. Three-stone engagement rings can have many different meanings for different couples. They're not produced as much as the single haloes. But they have very loyal owners.
The bottom line is that a super sparkly three stone halo can't be tacky due to it's endless sparkle.
Here's an example of a trellis three-stone halo engagement ring that also has pave wrap. This means the sides of the ring are also sparkly.
If you’re buying a ring for your fiancé, it’s always good to have her best friend or sister tag along to help you out. (Plus, if she doesn’t like the ring, you’re not the only one to blame! lol) If she's a close friend of hers, then probably she knows what her favorite halo engagement ring would look like.
Keeping others' opinions and comments may cause the ring to never look dated. Because everyone says how beautiful your ring is so you'd never feel negatively.
I could repeat that a hundred times. Once the ring is worn by the lady, nobody’s opinion of it matters, except her own.
This was general advice, now let’s talk specifically of halo rings.
Halo engagement rings have been trending like crazy for about 15 years.
The reason you keep hearing this question, ‘Are Halo Engagement Rings Tacky?’ is because we’ve seen just too many of them in the past few years. If google search traffic is to be believed, the search for halos reached a high in 2013 and reduced only in December 2019. Which means more than six years of the ‘halo craze’. Well, halos have been around longer, but the craze trend reached its peak in the 2010s.
In this screenshot you can see that these results are worldwide. You can see that people in the United States love halo rings more than everyone on the planet. So it's very popular in the US compared to the rest of the world. It's interesting to know that Ireland, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom are the second, third, fourth and fifth on the record.
As the records show, halo rings are massively demanded throughout the entire world. So halo engagement rings are not gonna go out of style anytime soon.
Most super cute halo rings are elegant too. This beauty comes with some extra care needs. You should make sure that you're not doing heavy work with your hand if you wanna go with this type. Unique and cute rings are a great way to stand out and not get a tacky ring.
In this style you can see that the shank has a style like the cat's ears. The setting of it is a crown that functions as a Halo/Hidden Halo/Pave Wrap design. That doesn't end there. There's 8 cute heart prongs to secure your main stone.
Mark proposed to Sandra in 2021. He knew she loved natural diamond haloes with a cute and luxury design. He saw several variations and he finally zeroed down this ring. So, he decided to get her this halo ring with the highest quality diamond possible. We custom made this ring for him with natural diamond in less than a week. He got a flawless clarity D color natural diamond ring.
To be sure, he got on a video call with Sandra’s sister while choosing the ring. He prepared an elaborate meal and set up a romantic dinner in his backyard. When he proposed, Sandra couldn’t help but scream with joy! She received exactly what she wanted. She loves her ring and finds it stylish even today. When it comes to engagement rings, it’s important to pick something you love. So if you're a girl and reading this, make sure you let your friends and family know about your preferences and what your ring size is. This way you help them help you get what you love. All you need is to talk about it.
In our opinion, halos aren’t tacky if you get the right thing from the right place. Some halo designs might seem a bit outdated, but so can some solitaires. There are always new halo styles coming up that are lighter, and more delicate if that’s what you are looking for.
But if you want something too subtle and minimal - like a simple unadorned band, then the halo might not be for you. Because halo rings are anything but subtle. They are known for their jazz and sparkle.
Brides either love the halo engagement rings or hate them – the neutral ones are few and far between. But the admirers far outweigh the haters. For every woman who thinks halo engagement rings are tacky, there are 5 admiring them.
Also, don’t think that a high price tag prevents a tacky engagement ring. I have to mention that in reality if the high price is reasonable, then it gives you a certain type of good feeling and confidence in us. It’s really about the design and the quality of the diamond/moissanite that determines how a ring looks and feels like.
Go with more special and rare stones like heart cut, radiant, emerald and oval with Internally Flawless clarity.
There's something special about this ring. The stone is round. But the setting is a floating heart halo with an infinity shank. With the first impression you'd think the stone is a heart cut, but in fact it's a round cut.
Special stones with halo engagement rings can't be dated at all. Most of the halo engagement rings produced in the past decades are round and cushion. Although these two cuts are the most popular stone shapes because of their massive sparkle and light reflection, you can simply look different by choosing another shape of stone.
Heart cut is very beautiful and of course the most lovely shape cut among all stone shapes. It's almost impossible to have a heart cut tacky engagement ring. Unless the designer purposely designed a tacky halo ring.
My second stone alternative would be an oval cut. Oval is an amazing shape that is not that common in things around us. That's why oval cut diamonds have a very special vibe to them.
At the end of the day halo engagement rings are so popular and sparkly. That's why the chances are that today's tacky halo engagement rings become tomorrow's trend. It's correct that simple halos are more on demand these days, but be aware that people couldn't get enough of metal work on their halo engagement rings 10-20 years ago.
You don't need to think about your halo engagement ring to be tacky at all. Since our halo collections are designed based on the trendiest design halo engagement rings. You can add your own touch to them and you're all set with a gorgeous unique halo engagement ring.
All you need is to go through our collections and choose a ring which suits you the best. Then let me know what changes you wanna make and what type or color of stone you want.
Now that you know all you should about haloes, I should mention another amazing alternative to halo engagement rings. Hidden halos partially have the same halo effect to make your main stone appear bigger. At the same time you'll have many stones facing to the sides all around. What does it mean? It means more sparkle from different angles. So if you don't like haloes but you want more stones/sparkle around your main stone, hidden haloes are your strongest bet.
Your second alternative choice would be something totally different like a solitaire. Solitaire is a timeless style just like halo but with a lot less bling.
If you're a minimalist or generally like simple design thing far better than the complicated ones, then a solitaire engagement ring would be your go to choice.
Here's 3 carat VVS tulip set that with it's beauty can fill the empty place of a halo for you. It may not provide you with sparkle, but you bet you're gonna love it's rose gold shine for sure.

We compared some similar halo rings together. This picture is an example to show you how much a halo adds to a ring. In this case we used some 3 carat rings. The top one is a cushion cut with halo. The other two are round cut with the same carat weight.
Can you guess how many mm or carat does the halo add to the bottom halo ring?
You can see the round halo at the bottom looks around two carat bigger than the middle ring with the same size stone. Two carat bigger stone size is the equivalent of approximately 2 mm.
A halo ring features a concentric circle of smaller diamonds around a big center diamond. Most commonly, the center diamond is 0.5-ct or bigger. The pave-set small diamonds in a traditional halo are in the 1.1-1.3mm range. 1mm halo stone corresponds to 0.005-carat weight. It is ideal to keep that halo looking light and fine so that it accentuates the center stone without being bulky.
The small stones on the Halo itself are usually round cut. I listed the most common stone sizes that people would like to have on their Halo. You can see the equivalent of their size in millimeters to carat weight.
Round MM Size | Round Carat Weight |
---|---|
0.8 mm. | 0.0025 ct. |
1 mm. | 0.005 ct. |
1.1 mm. | 0.0067 ct. |
1.2 mm. | 0.009 ct. |
1.25 mm. | 0.01 ct. |
1.3 mm. | 0.01 ct. |
1.5 mm. | 0.015 ct. |
1.75 mm. | 0.02 ct. |
1.8 mm. | 0.025 ct. |
2 mm. | 0.03 ct. |
2.2 mm. | 0.04 ct. |
2.5 mm. | 0.06 ct. |
Now you know the size of the stones placed on the halo of your ring can be as small or as big as you want. You've probably seen many haloes with small stones. So let's take a look at some other types of haloes with different carats or millimeters. Then I'll show you a few of the most popular halo designs.
Here's a super cute halo with big round cut stones enhancing the oval cut center stone.
This one has smaller stones but still very big compare to the 1mm norm.
Starburst Halo my favorite. But you should know that some haloes of this type may snag. So I mostly recommend Starburst Halo to the ones that are very careful and don't do heavy work. If you work from home or an office then this might be your type of halo.
Let's take a look at a rose gold halo. This type of halo comes with heart prongs to grab the most attention. With the cute details you even forget to notice that it's a halo with bigger stones than usual.
I added a second picture of the same halo to show you how fat this 1 carat center stone looks like. With this size stone you could guess the center stone to be up to around 1.75 carat.
The size of the stones set on a halo is a customizable feature. Whether you wanna go with the tradition or you wanna stand alone, the size of the stones can make a huge difference in the overall look of your halo engagement ring.
The design of your engagement ring is a very important factor when it comes to making the center stone appear larger than usual. Here I broke down some of the most loved halo designs for you.
Roughly, a halo setting can make a 0.50-ct center stone look close to a 0.70-ct stone. If it's 1 carat, with halo it would look like 1.5-ct. If it's 2-you may think it's a 2.5-ct. Or if you see a 3 carat you'll guess it's much bigger, something like 4 carat or more.
It depends on how close the halo is to the main stone. It also depends on how big the stones are set.
Bigger halos can enhance the size of the center diamond by half a carat size. If you want, you can get a double or even a triple halo, but make sure it doesn’t overpower the center stone. When it comes to halo designs, the sky is the limit.
The traditional pave diamond is the most common and the most popular kind of diamond halo you will find. It adds a bit of sparkle and enhances the perceived size of the ring. Without distracting much from the center diamond. If you are a woman with classic taste, this is a great choice for you.
For making things a little different hidden halo would bring some of the effects of halo to a solitaire looking ring. However you would still get some more size and sparkle out of it. It's just simple but badd-ass. Are you simple but badd-ass?
If you've got good memories of your relatives or family members loving their vintage style ring, but you love halo, this would hit two birds with one stone. Not only do they add the most size to your ring, they look the cutest from distance on your finger. Some of them even look like a sparkly flower ring when you see them first. All this good stuff comes with additional costs and puts the Vintage Halo on a different level.
🛑Only purchase your halo ring from experienced and high end stores...
We only use the highest quality stones in our jewelry but nothing less. Doesn't matter how small or big the stone is, we're famous for the quality of the stones we use in our jewelry.
After all you want the halo to make your ring look larger and more sparkly right?
Unfortunately it's common that some jewelers might offer you very cheap rings, but you don't know that when it comes to the quality of the stones, they use the lowest quality and the cheapest stones. It's especially common when it comes to smaller stones like the one that we set for the halo rings. This massively reduces the amount of sparkle of your halo ring which is supposed to be super sparkly. It's very noticeable when some bad cut, cloudy or fake stones are set on your ring. For example cloud in the stones prevent the light from traveling through them. So less light means less reflection. And less reflection means less sparkle. Which is so sad.
This stuff is not kidding. Just going after buying a small stone on your own and finding a jeweler to set it for you may take a long time or be frustrating. So what to do to prevent any of the above issues when buying a halo engagement ring?
You must make sure you buy your halo from a brand that guarantees the replacement of the petite stones to some extent. For example here at Leyloon we have extraordinary guarantees on the halo petite stones. Any stone up to 0.21 carat will get replaced for any reason for free. Even if it falls out(we place them in a way that they never fall out).
Leyloon's 0.21 carat stone replacement offer is "the most amount of stone replacement offered" in the jewelry industry. We're behind our product and customers like a mountain.
Basically if you don't damage it, we got your back. If you damage it, we can still fix it, but you're in charge. But the upside is that you always know that we help you keep your halo engagement ring in the same shape forever.
Another important factor about halo engagement rings is that if you don't take care of it, they may get dirty(depending on your lifestyle) and lose its sparkle. Usually people have to pay anywhere from $30 to $100 to clean and polish their halo ring. But you don't have to worry at all. Because we clean, polish and renew your engagement ring every 12 months or more for FREE. How great is that?
Haloes really add a lot of size and sparkle to a ring. It depends on the size of the stones used in the halo and the area of the halo placement. Some haloes' stones face upward and some other stones of the haloes face sideways.
First you have to know why you wanna go with halo? Or why do you love it more than other designs?
If you care about the size and sparkle more than anything, go with moissanite rings. Why would you try to make a small stone look bigger while you can actually get a big stone? You can get much bigger rings with your budget if you opt for lab diamonds or moissanite.
But if you only and only wanna go with diamonds you better focus more on the cutest design halo you can get...
We have both of them in any color with the highest quality possible. But I have to tell you what actually makes more sense in my point of view as a designer.
If you like to have halo design in your ring, you have to decide which halo style would suit you the best. Or maybe you're artistic and wanna go with the vintage halo.
Go through our Halo or Hidden Halo collections and find yours. We can help you to customize it to what you'd love the most.

Most halo engagement rings look bigger than single stone rings. Say she wants a round brilliant ring. But not an oversized stone. What do you do?
A diamond ring in a halo setting might be the answer. Because what’s better than bling? More bling, of course! The halo engagement ring has been extremely popular in the past decades. This style features a center diamond surrounded by a "halo" of smaller diamonds. This gives the illusion of a much larger stone. Halos can be shaped around any stone. They can be square, oval, pear, or any other shape that your lady fancies. A halo setting can make the center diamond look up to half a carat bigger.
The term ‘brilliance’ in a diamond describes the amount of light reflected into the eye of the viewer. The small diamonds create a ring of brilliant sparkle around the center stone, giving the appearance of a bigger stone. The halo setting also increases the size of the ring because of an extra layer of diamonds. No illusion there.
Having said that, it’s also important to choose a stunning center diamond to create a truly brilliant ring. When it comes to diamonds, it’s the shape and the brilliance that matter after the carat weight.
If you’re choosing colorless diamonds, platinum or white gold bands will help enhance the reflective quality of the ring.
If you’re not sold on the halo, having three smaller diamonds side-by-side will also help add volume to the ring.
A relatively new style on the block. cluster rings feature smaller diamonds that are paired together in a cluster.
For a non-conventional bride, opt for a unique diamond shape such as the oval, marquise or pear. This will take the attention away from its size and brilliance.
A well-cut diamond with proper angles and facets will not only be beautiful but will look larger.
Choosing a delicate band or shank will keep the attention on the diamond and make it look bigger in comparison.
If you’re in fact going for a halo ring, make sure that the color of the center diamond and the smaller diamonds match perfectly. If you’re going for a contrast look then you don’t need to worry about matching the color.
We hope this helps you find the perfect ring for your beloved. Happy proposing!

In 2018, Lady Gaga announced her engagement with a pink sapphire in a halo setting.

More and more couples today are choosing engagement rings that are as unique as their love. Carol and John have been together since high school. They both loved the beach and would always plan a beach holiday right after the new year. On one such beautiful beach night, they went for a walk along the water. They were the only people on the beach. While they watched an incredible sunset together, John went atop a sand dune, got down on one knee, and pulled out an amazing ring, that sparkled like their love. It was a beautiful oval halo. Carol was so overwhelmed, she cried like a baby. Of course, she said yes!
If your fiancé also loves something classic but wants a stylish twist, the Halo ring might be for you. The Halo is a timeless classic, second only to the solitaire. A halo ring features a big center diamond, framed by a circle of smaller diamonds. The result - a ring that has more sparkle than a solitaire of the same size.
The small diamonds also act as a protective layer for the center diamond. Because you don’t want to buy a ring with all the love and then end up losing the diamond. Carol and John have been married for two years now. On all family outings, Carol sports her beautiful ring. It sits gracefully on her finger, and given its close setting, doesn’t get caught anywhere.
The halo style also makes the central stone look bigger than it is. Studies say that diamonds can look up to half a carat bigger in the halo setting.
The halo style became popular as part of the 1920s art deco movement. The style resurfaced several times over the years before acquiring a classic status. It has become one of the most popular styles of engagement rings, favored by celebrities and luxury brands alike.
Halo rings come in a variety of styles. From a classic round diamond ring to a colored floral halo, there are so many styles to choose from.
This elegant style features a classic round diamond center that is set inside a circle of smaller diamonds.
Instead of a single halo layer, this style uses two halos of diamonds. Some people choose to go for a third layer too, depending on the size of the center stone.
If the edge of the halo is paved, then it's a double edge. Extreme sparkle lovers like it the most.
A Hidden Halo sits anywhere blow the main stone like a shining belt.
Hidden Halo lovers want the halo effect with exposing the shape of the center stone. If your partner prefers a unique stone shape with the halo effect, then go with this. You can go with shapes such as square, pear, oval, or even Ascher. They all look great in the hidden halo setting.
In a floating halo accent stones surround the main stone but not physically in contact with it. The halo sits on a different setting which comes from the shank and connects to the basket or prong of the main stone invisibly. This is done to make it like a real halo in the space. 🌌
In Starburst Halo usually the halo setting is held by prongs. The halo's setting uses single or more prongs like a finger holding a gem. The shiny little prongs all around the little halo stones make the whole thing look like a snow or star.
People that can take care of super elegant accessories should only go with this. Because the prongs are exposed outward. And that means it may get stuck to your clothes if you're not caring and careful. You know you.
If your fiancé has a favorite color, you can choose to go with a colored center stone for the ring. Sapphires are stunning, think Princess Diana. Other colors, such as emerald, ruby, and canary are also popular among the ones that only go with unique stuff.
Tip: For better understanding know that an engagement ring might have multiple characteristics. For example if a double halo has a set of stones on its edge, it gets 3 characteristics at the same time. Double Halo, Double Edge Halo and even Pavé. Pavé is said when there's three or more rows of setting on the ring.
See if your personality and lifestyle matches with it, you're not gonna wanna take it off after you notice how many eyes it grabs.
If you’re planning to propose with a halo, we’d love to hear your story!
